The One Question
When determining the one value that matters the most – for your company, non-profit, agency, or even for you personally – what’s the one question you need to ask?
What do you want to be known for?
When you can answer this, don’t stop at your first response.
Dig. Push on it. Pull it apart.
Now ask: What’s important about this response, to you?
If you can find a deeper, richer response, then dig and push on it too.
Then ask: What’s important about this new response, to you?
Repeat the process until you can’t find a deeper, more meaningful response.
Now, sleep on it.
Tomorrow, consider if this final response is truly what you want to be known for. If this makes you excited, jazzed, pumped up, or even emotional, then you have found a value that truly differentiates.
